ANDY BIERSACK IN THE ISSUE OF K! MAGAZINE
(Issue no 1439 / Nov 3 2012)
(For those who can't read the interview):
"K! : Are you a fan of Hallowe'en?
Andy : I've always looked at Hallowe'en a bit oddly. Every other day of the year, people call us weird for dressing up, but Hallowe'en is the one day that everyone else in the world tries to dress like us. It's the ultimate holiday for the weird kids and the freaks - because we're like that all year round.
K! : Do you dress up?
Andy : We've been on tour for a lot of recent Hallowe'ens, so we tend to up our game onstage a bit. I was at home last year because I'd broken my face [Andy broke his nose by accidentally head-butting the drum riser during a show in Luxembourg]. I didn't need a mask... When I was a kid, I used to dress up like Batman and go trick-or-treating. I loved doing that. In fact, I love the season. It's that time when things start getting colder and darker - that's my favourite time of the year.
K! : Have you ever tricked anyone who didn't treat you?
Andy : I was never that interested in the candy element of trick-or-treating, because it was more the dressing up that I liked. I didn't really care about pranking anyone; the purpose for me was to walk around in a cool costume and feel like Batman.
K! : What's your biggest fear?
Andy : It's the weirdest thing. I greatly dislike old black-and-white footage of The Wizard Of Oz. It creeps me out like nothing else. Old photographs from the set scare the living shit out of me. It's strange, I know, but they always have. If you were to show me some photos of that creepy fucking set, I'd run a mile. It really gets to me."
